With the experience gained from developing the seat fabrics that provide required levels of comfort, beauty and safety, Kawashima has established the foundation for innovative technologies and approaches that lead to versatile new materials with new functions.  Such materials are now being introduced in the seats and interiors of various automobiles.  With a new perspective and approach to innovation, Kawashima is realizing the potential of the fabrics of the future.

This new resin-coated material was developed with double raschel knitting technology.  It is lightweight, incombustible and strong.	This next-generation cushioning material was developed as a substitute for conventional urethane foam.  Because it is made of polyester, the same material used for the seat surface, it can be easily be recycled.	The spring fabric is woven of knitted with special yarn to provide a cushioning effect.  This material was developed to reduce the weight and space required for seating, but its potential is limitless.  We are now promoting this material for a variety of applications.
